Ontario Public Sector Salary Disclosure - Sunshine List 2015

The Public Sector Salary Disclosure Act, 1996 makes Ontario’s public sector more open and accountable to taxpayers. The act requires organizations that receive public funding from the Province of Ontario to make public, by March 31 each year, the names, positions, salaries and total taxable benefits of employees paid $100,000 or more in the previous calendar year.

Every year, the Ontario government publishes its annual Sunshine List of public sector servants with six-figure salaries. According to the document, Legislative Assembly's 140 staffers made the Sunshine List, earning total compensation of $18,829,156.67 in 2014.

Topping the list for the Legislative Assembly was Clerk, Legislative Assembly / Greffière de l'Assemblée législative Deborah Deller, who brought home $227,834.91 in 2014.

Following Deborah Deller was Premier / Première ministre Kathleen Wynne, with annual earnings of $208,974.00. Deputy Clerk and Executive Director, Legislative Services / Sous-greffier et directeur général des services parlementaires Todd Decker made $193,559.76, Member of Provincial Parliament / Député à l'Assemblée législative de l'Ontario Dalton Mcguinty made $189,666.74, and Minister, Energy / Ministre de l'Énergie Robert Chiarelli round out the top-five highest-paid employees with $182,436.12 for the Legislative Assembly 2015 Sunshine List.
